Lauryn represented a lot for us. She went where no other female hip hop artist had ventured before - the underbelly of hip hop - where an artist is an artist. Not trying to pull any punches or score points for herself. In so doing she -
struck a cord in all our hearts. I remember the first time I heard "everything is everything" - (my cousin played the cd all day)and how the rhymes she dropped seemed to emphasize what a lot of us were goin through.
So is Lauryn ever going to drop somethang that makes us think that way again? Highly doubtful from what I see. She looks like she has a thousand demons to go up against - and they seem to be winning. So when you listen to any of the old Lauryn Hill tracks - spare a thought for the state she is in today. The picture below shows (at least for me) all the bullshit she is currently going through. Does she need our support? - hell yeah - why am I even ask'n?. For all of you who have some kind of influence or contact with Lauryn- help us do somethang here.
On a personal level: LAURYN!! PLEASE COMEBACK HOME TO HIP HOP!
