Quick stop: the band

Band: Breaking Benjamin

Genre : Post-grunge/ Alternative metal/ Alternative rock

Albums:

Saturate ( 2002):
“A melting ... Full Descriptionpot of post-grunge riffs, nu-metal power, and classic rock accessibility, Breaking Benjamin offers something for hard rock fans of all stripes. Melodic choruses and signature riffs rub shoulders with screeching, from-the-gut vocals and amps-on-11 guitar firestorms. By paying homage to all their influences simultaneously, the band seems to have come up with a hard-hitting sound whose whole is greater than the sum of its already-impressive parts on BB's chart-bound debut album SATURATE.” -cduniverse.com

We Are Not Alone ( 2004 ):
“Breaking Benjamin's second album draws on the usual post-grunge touchstones: overdriven guitars and tortured singing. There's a cameo from Billy Corgan, but Breaking Benjamin distinguish themselves from their peers only because their Nickelback-ish choruses are full of hopeful platitudes rather than heroic melancholia”- CHRISTIAN HOARD

Phobia ( 2006)
“Breaking Benjamin's album is stronger than most radio-ready post-grunge records, but that's not saying much: They've added some atmospherics and a more seductive sound ("Breath"), but Phobia is still overrun with an oppressively dark guitar attack and mediocre angst-rock like "Evil Angel."”- CHRISTIAN HOARD

What I have to say:
I have to say this is one of my favorite bands. I like the way they handle their choruses. The drums and the guitars are great. The vocals are just right. When I listen to these guys I can at least believe that these guys don’t create their music to make money. But they create music because they have a great time making music. Lots of people say that their music is on the edge of darkness with songs like “dance with the devil” and “evil angel”. I just think that their songs reflect life because life is all about living on the edge of darkness.

My favorite song:
According to my Winamp play count it’s a tie between Simple Design and Sooner or later.
